Steve Rubel: 3 Tips for Businesses on Twitter and Facebook

In this short interview, posted today, Steve Rubell tells companies to:

1. Be ubiquitous. Be in all the places where stakeholders are spending their time. Be there in a relevant way.
2. Adopt different messages for each place. [Steve uses YouTube and Twitter as examples].
3. Be discoverable. The biggest footprints online will do the best, and microblogging is a step in that direction. [Steve mentions Posterous].
4. Don't look at the technology. Instead, look at your trends. Where are your costumers? What's the mix? Start with a strategy, with people and with big trends--before deciding on anything else.
